Sunday Morning

Manna Baptist Church

Message:

That’s Not Fair!

Key Scripture:

Genesis 37:1-5,11,23-28

People will hurt you. Offenses will come. Life gets hard. Life sometimes moves from one trial to the next. The statement shouldn’t be “That’s not fair…that’s too hard…I give up.” …It should be “Life is difficult, but it is doable…doable, because of good friends and a loving heavenly Father!”

God wants to help you! BUT, if you blame others and hold a grudge against them for what they have done to you - you will NEVER live in victory.

I. ENVY

Genesis 37:3-4,11

II. POISONOUS SPEECH

Genesis 37:4

III. GRUDGES

Genesis 37:9-11

IV. TEAMING UP

Genesis 37:18-22

V. ACTING OUT

Genesis 37:23-28

Conclusion:

Joseph’s brothers sinned against God and man (Joseph and his father). The only relief they would find from this cover up and sin is in the forgiveness that would be extended to them years later.

Joseph was treated unfairly, he could have responded to unfair treatment like his brothers did, but we never find Joseph full of envy, a poisonous speech, holding a grudge, teaming up against, or acting out. Rather, we find that Joseph was able to move on, be spirit-filled and succeed. He came through the unfair treatment by others, and therefore, through the help of God he became unstoppable.

It’s from this text that we have witnessed an unstoppable testimony (a testimony of a 17 year old). This testimony proves a person can be more stable and strong through trials than we think possible...especially when the trials and troubles hit a little closer to home than we wish they would.

I want to challenge you to have a revival birthed deep within your soul that would cause to to be unstoppable.
