The Smith Family

I, Justyn, am an Illinois boy from birth. I was saved as a child, later baptized, and then called to preach on June 6th, 2003 when I was 17 years old.

My bride, Rachel, is Alaskan Grown. She came to know Christ as a child and was later baptized, as well.

We met at Pensacola Christian College in Florida. We were married the summer after graduation on July 21st, 2007.

After nine years of prayers by many all over the nation and some from other parts of the world, the Lord saw fit to give us Lydia Grace who was born in February of 2017. She continues to fill our life with joy! We love serving the Lord as a family!

Rachel and I have served the Lord together faithfully in full-time ministry for 16 years and counting.

Our ministry background has been established through various beautiful "seasons" that God has used to bring us to where we are today. We are thankful for each season.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven..."

Ecclesiastes 3:11 "He hath made every thing beautiful in his time..."

SEASON ONE

August 2007-June 2008: The Assistant Pastor and Youth Leader at Princeville Baptist Church, Princeville, IL under the leadership of Pastor Lee Taylor.

SEASON TWO

June 2008-September 2012: The traveling ministry of evangelism and revival out of Princeville Baptist Church.

SEASON THREE

September 2012-November 2018: The Pastorate of Crossroads Baptist Church in Peoria, IL - the Church in which Justyn Smith was blessed to grow up!

SEASON FOUR

December 2018-Present: The traveling ministry of evangelism and revival called, A Heart For Revival Ministries, Inc. A ministry founded by Justyn Smith

THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives. We use the King James Bible.

JESUS CHRIST AND THE GOSPEL

Jesus Christ is to have the preeminence in all things. We believe He is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He was virgin born, lived sinless, died on the cross in our place, and rose again in eternal triumph over sin and the grave. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

SALVATION

We believe in Biblical Salvation. It is comprised of three parts: 1. Justification (commonly referred to as the day of one's salvation or getting saved), 2. Sanctification (the day-to-day life of a believer becoming more like Christ) and 3. Glorification (when we see Him..."we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." 1 John 3:2b").

We believe salvation is, "Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." Acts 20:21b

We believe salvation is a gift from God and not obtained by the works of man.

THE TRINITY

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, and all three are one (I John 5:7) Who have a dynamic role in all things. He is totally just, wonderfully loving and completely holy.

THE CHURCH

We believe in the power and significance of the local church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together. 

"...to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones." Isaiah 57:15

"And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples." Acts 18:23 

We are a ministry under our local church with a desire to come alongside other churches and encourage God's people with A Heart For Revival and Evangelism through fellowship, serving, singing and the preaching of God's Holy Word!

Many Pastors and Secretaries have contacted us as to how they can better minister and care for our family upon upon arrival at their church. Therefore, we have created a page to answer most of the frequently asked questions.

Starting in April of 2019, a partnership between Camp Joy (Whitewater, WI) and A Heart For Revival Ministries (Princeville, IL) was established. This partnership of ministries is a result of several years of companionship and co-laboring in different capacities. We are excited to promote and serve each other as both ministries move forward for the glory of God!
